My Story
From the time I was a little boy, my parents, James Irvin and Irene West, would always take us to Petit Jean Mountain. My father was born nearby in Casa, AR, in 1943. My grandfather moved to Louisiana when my father was two years old and began farming. Opportunities were not rich on the mountain, so they left.
I have always loved the mountains and wanted to go back. More than 70 years later, the opportunity was presented to me with 12 acres and…. well, here I am. With determination and the help of a few relatives, I built 9 rental cabins, thoughtfully placed in great spaces that I stayed in myself. My wife and I now live in a beautiful cabin that is our home on the Mountain, continuing the West family legacy dating back to the 1800s. Part of my ancestor's cabin can even be found in the State Park.
We are a place where you can bring family, friends, co-workers, or just be alone.
I couldn't stop there, so I decided to add a pavilion with a cozy log-burning fireplace. I wanted to recreate the pioneer setting and provide a wonderful gathering place for everyone.
Whatever the reason, you will find rest. I'll even build your fire if I need to.
Guest cancellations have the potential to disrupt the availability of other potential renters seeking accommodation at Lost Cabins of Petit Jean Mountain (LCPJM). If a renter cancels a confirmed reservation, LCPJM reserves the right to impose fees and consequences. However, waivers may be granted for cancellations due to extenuating circumstances or other valid reasons outside a renter’s control. A voucher may be substituted in place of a refund.
A deposit amounting to one night's stay is required upon booking to secure a reservation. The remaining balance is due 15 days before the scheduled arrival date, and it is the renter's responsibility to ensure timely payment is made, unless it is peak season, in which case full payment may be required upon booking.
All reservations must be confirmed using a valid email address, and all properties under the Lost Cabins of Petit Jean Mountain umbrella are privately owned, subject to the rules and expectations of their respective owners. Any other properties beyond LCPJM are also privately owned, and we kindly request that all guests respect this by avoiding trespassing, as anyone found disregarding this may be subject to penalties.
